Belgian bitcoin billionaire Marc De Mesel who loves “cars and young thin exotic ladies” was shopping for a woman to impregnate in exchange for Sh100 million. The father of three from previous relationships wanted the woman young, 20 to 25 years, bamboo thin. The more submissive and ‘exotic,’ meaning African, the better.

Few lasses fitted the bill than Felesta Njoroge, the 21 year old college student at the Nairobi Technical Training Institute graduate in Park Road, Nairobi.

Graduates later work as lab technicians, mechanics, marketing and supplies, as electricians. Raking in Sh100 million would mean working several lifetimes, but for Felesta, getting pregnant for Marc marked the opening of a new account at Coop bank and in two days this August, she had access to Sh100 million “as a gift and financial security of our future children.”

Felesta has already traveled to Europe as she think of the most lucrative places to invest in real estate, property, tours and travel

Falling into things: Felesta Njoroge now joins Adam Macharia, the grandson of media mogul SK Macharia as the other under 25 year old Kenyan in the multimillion shilling league. Adam inherited his late father’s Sh382 million life insurance and pension besides his controlling stake in DirectAssurance-Kenya’s largest underwriter of public service vehicles.

According to Marc who is more than twice her age, “the value of women is to bear children…because I want children. That’s also how I reward them with money and financial support, based on do they want to give me children and how many…”
Felesta, who is pregnant, can blow the quid whichever way she wishes, and she has already traveled to Europe as she think of the most lucrative places to invest in real estate, property, tours and travel.

The Sh100 million gift to Felesta is-just so you know-pocket change to Marc-the weed smoking college dropout who dreamt of being a successful entrepreneur and found dizzying success in crypto currencies and stocks after investing his guka’s inheritance in bitcoin when one cost $10 (Sh1000) a throw in 2012. One bitcoin is today Sh6 million!

Kenya is also a hotbed of terrorists who need financing besides being a conduit for money laundering

Kuangukia: Marc holds 40 percent of CarGurus, the giant American internet new and second-hand car listing company. Buyers compare prices and contact sellers. Marc has held his shares since 2008-and harvested big time when CarGurus went public in 2017.

But it was wiring Sh100 million in tranches within days of opening the account for Felesta at Coop bank that attracted sleuths from the Anti Banking Fraud Unit considering there were no other prior transactions. Kenya is also a hotbed of terrorists who need financing besides being a conduit for money laundering.

A case in point being the mabati church in Githurai which some time back deposited millions every week from tithes and offerings, yet investigators only found a congregation that could fit in two Githurai 46-seater buses, according to a bank teller privy to the matter. That its mother church was in Nigeria raised some eyebrows, if you get what we mean.

End receiver is a presidential candidate and not in the good books of Deep State

Far from the madding crowd: Graduates of Nairobi Technical Training Insitute where Felesta was a student work as mechanics, account and marketing assistants, cooks and as lab technicians. If and when her Sh100 million is released to her and she retains her head, she might never have to look for work for the rest of her life.

Next year is also a high stakes election year. Any huge movement of unexplained cash raises more eyebrows in case the end receiver is a presidential candidate and not in the good books of Deep State. That Mesel is a bitcoin billionaire and cryptocurrencies are not legal tender in Kenya, but are cleaned daily, anyway.

And so it was that detectives moved with speed for Felesta to explain sources of the money and how she made it at only 21. Mesel has since explained that the Sh100 million is just one among many gifts he extends to Felesta.  The account has been frozen for 90 days to allow the Asset Recovery Agency complete investigations.
